About the Midwest City Chamber of Commerce

Midwest City is a great place to live, work and raise a family and, eventually, retire here.  This has come through decades of great planning and hard work by many good people.  We live in a city kept safe by police and fire departments that are among the best in the nation.  Our primary and secondary school system is also award winning and comprised of dedicated teachers and administrators enabling our children to achieve great things through education.  We are surrounded by great colleges and universities, including our own Rose State College which is growing rapidly and has a demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching and creation of a great learning environment for their students.  They recently added an outstanding new health sciences center with state-of-the-art facilities and equipment.  Many Rose State students fill needed critical professional and technical positions in Midwest City as soon as they graduate.

Our hospital is growing by 102 beds in a $25 million dollar project and is continually adding new physician practices in the City creating many new jobs.  Our community partnership with Tinker Air Force Base is one of the most successful in the nation and is frequently admired and spoken about by Commanding Generals who serve here.  We are all honored to support the Air Force and Navy mission to keep our Country safe.  The exciting acquisition of the GM plant and creation of what is now “Building 900” has brought new life and the prospect of new jobs.  More than 600 employees were moved to this location in 2009 and more than $22 million in renovations were made to focus on engine maintenance, sheet metal and machine shops.  Many new jobs will be added over the next few years.

We are a great church community with many denominations offering opportunities to support and serve your family.  Parks are well utilized and being expanded by the City.  Shopping and retail continues to expand both on 29th Street and in other areas of the City providing great services, restaurants, shopping and banking outlets.  There are attractive opportunities throughout the City to open successful businesses to meet the needs of the citizens.

The Chamber of Commerce and the City of Midwest City plan to work very hard to continue the tradition to move Midwest City forward and to support the Chamber Members in their efforts to grow and be successful.  Thank you for your interest and involvement in the continued growth and success of Midwest City.
