Help your MWC Fire Department Receive a $10,000 grant!

Liberty Mutual Insurance Company is offering a chance for Midwest City Fire Department to receive a $10,000 grant.  In order to win we must try and get 5,000 people to take the “Fire Smart” quiz and select Midwest City to be the recipient department for the $10,000.  Also, in order for us to get credit you MUST use the link below listed in “Step 1″.  The contest is from Sept. 1, 2010 to Oct. 31st 2010!  6 Grants of $10,000 will be given out to departments that fall into our category of 10,001 to 100,000 residents.

Step 2:  click the lower left link “Fire Safety Pledge Program” > “Get Started”

Step 3:  click the lower left link again “Get Started Take the Quiz”

Step 4:  Select OK for Oklahoma

Step 5:  Select Midwest City

Step 6:  Take the 10 questions Quiz  (You do not have to get the questions correct, they are to help educate)

Question 1:    Never leave the dryer on when you leave home.

Question 2:    What percentage of home electric fire related deaths are caused by cords and plugs?

Question 3:    What is the leading cause of home fires in the winter months?

Question 4:    If a fire starts, get out first, then call the fire department.

Question 5:    Each year, fire kills more Americans than all natural disasters combined.

Question 6:    Keep your smoke alarms free of dust and debris by vacuuming over and around them regularly.

Question 7:    Never use a fire extinguisher for a grease fire on the stove.

Question 8:    Most home fires start in the.

Question 10:  Cooking fires are the number one cause of home fires.

Step 7:  For verification purposes the screen after the quiz will ask for your name, number, and email address.  YOU MUST FILL THIS OUT for us to get credit.  It is required to make sure we do not get duplicate entries.

Step 8:  Your done!  Except please get the word out!!!!  And get others to vote!  We can do this and win!!!
