BusinessWeek magazine announced this week that Midwest City has been selected as the second best community in Oklahoma to raise kids.
According to BusinessWeek, school performance and safety were weighted most heavily; the panel also gave Midwest City strong marks for its affordability.
Editors also selected Midwest City based on criteria such as household incomes, air quality, quality of parks, and job growth.
A spokesperson for BusinessWeek stated that they looked for communities that scored well across the board.
Representative Mary Fallin responded to the designation by saying “[The editors] recognized something that we have known for a long time — that the people and the institutions are outstanding.”
